New Mexico employment law is applicable to companies doing business in New Mexico, and their employees. There are also federal laws, such as the Fair Labor Standards Act which may apply. We cannot tell from you question, but hourly employees' compensation is strictly regulated and NM law spells out the work week [40 hours], breaks during the day [1/2 hour minimum], time and one-half for overtime, etc. Management and salaried employees are treated differently, and may be required to work more than 40 hours without accruing overtime.
