Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New Mexico
Eviction and Tresspassing
I have just recently gotten evicted from the UNM-LA dorms in Los Alamos. This morning I needed a ride to work from one of my friends living there and one of the maintenence workers saw me on the property walking to my friends. I recieved and email later in the day from the housing department saying that if I were to be seen in/on dorm property again the police would be called and I would be arrested. Further, whoever's appartment I was at would be immediately evicted. Is there any legal basis to any of this? What if the friend invites me over to the apartment, does that also consitute tresspassing? Thanks.

Re: Eviction and Tresspassing
Why were you evicted?
Are there written policies on residency requirements that you are violating?
If you are an invited guest and not otherwise violating any policies you should not be considered a trespasser.
