Legal Question in Personal Injury in New Mexico

Changed mind after signing agreement at mediation what to do

I went to a mediation with city, I signed a agreement to accept offer. After mediation was over I feel I was pressured from mediator and my attorneys to except offer. I changed my mind I didn't want that offer. Do I have any recourse to stop this?

Re: Changed mind after signing agreement at mediation what to do

You are likely bound by the settlement agreement you signed and which is enforceable against you in court, unless you can present clear and convincing evidence that there was fraud, trickery, deceit or duress sufficient to cause a court to void your agreement. Not an easy task. Mere 'pressure' will probably not do it, as all mediated settlements have an element of pressure associated with them. The agreement is a compromise, meaning each side gives up something they don't think they should in order to reach an economic conclusion.
