when the officer gave me a sobriety test and said that they were going to let me go is there a chance that they will still charge me

If the officers did not administer a breath test [intoxilator] or have blood drawn and tested, it is most unlikely that you will be charged. If they let you drive after administering the Field Sobriety Tests, it is almost a certainty that you will never be charged with DWI as a result of your described traffic stop.
