Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New Mexico

my daughters trust

My dad recently died and left everything in a trust for my daughter. Do I have any way to make sure my daughters trust is being handled properly? The man named as trustee does not even know my daughter and I want to make sure things are taken care of properly.

Re: my daughters trust

You should be able to request an annual accounting from the trustee if your daughter is a minor. Other than that, you'd have to rely upon the trustee discharging his fiduciary duty toward your daughter in his handling of the trust.

Ask him what the trust is to be used for. That will give you some idea as to what information you may need to give him as an aid to his acting as trustee.
