My mother and father never were

divoriced. My father moved in with

another woman for 20 years, but

remained married to my mother.

There is a small amount of property

that is of dispute. What are the laws

pertaining to this

NM is a community property state. 50% of all real and personal property, including money, which was acquired by the community during the term of the marriage belongs to the surviving spouse. Living together is not required. The other 50% is split equally among the surviving children.
