Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New Mexico
Any financial responsiblity?
My Grandmother died about 1 year ago and left her house to my Mother and her sister. My Aunt wants to buy the house and in the will, has first rights to this, but does not have the money at this point. Is my Mother responsible for any property taxes, house insurance or any other financial obliglations prior to the house being sold?

Re: Any financial responsiblity?
Until legal ownership of the property changes, each 1/2 owner is responsible for 1/2 of all expenses, including taxes and other costs. Your mother is responsible for her share of the expenses of the real estate until there is a sale.
