Grandfather's Will

My father passed away before my grandfather. When my

grandfather passed away I never heard anything about

where his money went or property. Is there a way to

find out what was said in his wil

Re: Grandfather's Will

How do you know if your grandfather had a will? If he had a trust there might not be any public records of his estate. If your grandfather owned his own home, I'd check the county recorder's office to see if his home was held in the name of a trust. As to wills, check the index for the probate court in the county in which he lived at the time of his death. If he had a will, California law required that it be filed with the court. You may find the entire probate proceedings, if there was one, in the court file. How old were you when grandpa died? If there was a probate, California law would have required whoever the executor or administrator was to give you notice.
