Must a will go through probate in New Mexico?

If the deceased named beneficiaries in the will, then yes, it must be probated. NM has an informal probate procedure which is quick and easy, however, so it's no big deal. You can do it yourself without a lawyer if the estate is small enough, and the forms are available from the probate court.
