Depending on the type of Will that you intend, this process could be as simple as finding and using a software program that creates Wills valid in New Mexico. However, the best approach is to visit with a qualified trusts and estates lawyer to get the advice you need.

This is recommended even if you use software or forms to create your own Will. Always have a qualified attorney review these forms with you to avoid any traps you might not recognize.

Good luck.

Almost any business supply store such as Officemax in Albuquerque will carry a form or will kit for making your own will. That does not mean the procedure is advisable, however, as there is much more to it. For instance, most folks want a Living or "Right-to-Die" will, a durable power of attorney for health care, a medical directive, and related documents. If you don't know precisely what these do and what they are for, then you need professional assistance.

Surprisingly, a complete package of the most commonly requested testamentary documents including those mentioned above is custom-tailored for about $150. A pretty good bargain in today's legal market.
