Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York

if i had a business relationship with a company which was just purchased by a new company and i had a debt with the original company which was bought out. Can a new company demand a debt to be payed to them for repayment?

Yes, the new company can purchase the receivables from the old company and attempt to collect them. Happens all the time.
