Legal Question in Disability Law in New York

Accused of stealing from work.

i wrote a confession stating that I stole from my former employer. I never recieved a copy of the confession. There was no one present except my former district manager. Is that confession admissable in court? I just fill that since I don't have a copy and no one else was present that it could be doctored. ALso my district manager told me that the police will decide what to do with the info that she will give them. Is that true? I thought that it was up to the company to press charges or not. I alos feel like the whole meeting was an attempt to get info on other employees. Any info you can give me would be great. I am wating for the other shoe to drop. I don't know what to do. I am a mother and a wife and I know what I did was wrong but I don't know what to do.

Re: Accused of stealing from work.

While stealing is not a good thing, you still have a right to a trial and a lawyer.

The document is 100% admissible against you. It is up to you to show the document has been altered.

The employer has chosen to 'press charges' and now the DA is considering bringing the charges. The employer is only one decision-maker here. Good luck.
