Legal Question in Disability Law in New York

Ada

Hello,

I live in NY and have MS. My employer recently told me I was being moved from a job where I sat and used a computer all day to one of the largest depts. in the building. I must use a public restroom and walk much of the day. I would like to keep my present position. My supervisors have also used phrases like ''If you get sick again'' Working with the disabled services is a good fit for you '' and the HR manager told me I could take wipes and clean the bathroom before I used it! Who do I talk to about this? I tried Job accomodation network and got a voice mail, I would like to speak to a person. Is a lawyer my first stop?

Thank you

Re: ADA

The ADA requires your employer to make reasonable accomodations for you. It sounds like just the opposite is occurring. Your employer is making your job more physical and taxing despite your disability.

You may contact me via email to schedule a consultation.
