Legal Question in Disability Law in New York

I am being charged under ny penal code Pl cpm 5 221.10.1 do I need a lawyer to negotiate this down to an acod or is it possible to do it myself

You should hire an attorney asap if possible, penal law 221.10 is a misdemeanor carrying with it up to one year of imprisonment, unlike 221.05 which is just a violation.

Generally, depending on the amount of contraband possessed it may be possible to plead down to the violation but the reverse is also true, dependent upon the weight it may be significantly more difficult to do so.
