Legal Question in Disability Law in New York

submitted a FH Reasonable Accommodation request to landlord to remove wall to wall carpeting and replace with hardwood floors or tile because of allergies to carpet and certain sensitive to it chemicals. Also submitted my doctors verification for my disability to carpet allergies . However, Landlord has requested for doctor letter detailing the specific allergens i have before a decision is made. Can landlord request these details?
