Legal Question in Disability Law in New York

I worked at my job for a yr.I then went out on a personal leave due to foot surgery.My employer terminated me without notice.I was just about to go back to work until i heard the news but i was never informed about termination and it was 3months ago but they still paying me disability.Do i have a case and can i collect unemployment since they fired me?
