In the event that an attorney is sanctioned for failure to appear at a calendar call or at trial, does his right to practice become limited or restricted in any manner?

No. A sanction for failing to appear at a calendar call is applied to the particular case the attorney is on.
The license to practice law can only be suspended or revoked after a hearing by the grievance committee.
