Legal Question in Administrative Law in New York

Non Profit Organization Nominations and Elections

Our Non Profit Organization is holding its annual board of directors election on 10/21/98. A person, who is nominated for player agent, submitted a letter to the current recording secretary expressing her desire to have her name removed from the ballot. Due to pressure from other board members, she decided to re-enter the election, and the recording secretary has negated her letter declining the nomination, and has treated it as though it was never submitted. Is this permissable under Robert's Rules, which governs our organization, or is she ineligible to run for this position. Please respond ASAP since the election is three days away.

Re: NFP Elections and Robert's Rules

mercifully, this was posted long after the election. I do hope this non profit allowed her

to be on the ballot. I do not care if she won.

Otherwise it probably deserves to have its charter revoked for stupidity.

I cannot believe that people are so law-hobbled that they leave their common sense at the door. What the HELL does Roberts Rules of Order have to do with the legal right to run for an office in a Not for Profit Corporation? Point of Privilege.
