Legal Question in Administrative Law in New York
Purgery
I had recently made a statement against my boyfriend, and some things in it weren't exactly true. I was forced to say exactly what was in the statement at his preliminary hearing, and now I am trying to set things right and they are charging me with purgery. What should I expect?

Re: Purgery
Although I am not versed in New York criminal law, it appears your initial testimony could be challenged on the its conditions within you provided the statment. You cite "being forced" to provide a statement. You can expect to be charged with the crime of purgery and you can obtain cousel who can plead the merit of your case with the prosecutor citing the extenuating circumstances uder which your original testimony was obtained.
I hope the best for you.
