Legal Question in Appeals and Writs in New York
I am interested in filing an appeal for a conviction and sentencing last September 2009. I am inquiring about how much it would cost for an attorney to file for an appeal. Also, I have already filed myself, as well as for an extension, but the Supreme Court of Appeals failed to respond, and I feel that an attorney might be necessary. I have until September 3, 2010 to file such an action. If anyone has any information, opinions, or suggestions, it would be most helpful and appreciated.

The cost depends on how much work is invovled and every case is different. I am a former federal and State prosecutor and now handle criminal defense, including appeals. I have done over 50 appeals in my career. Feel free to contact me to discuss you case.
