Legal Question in Appeals and Writs in New York
judgement
A judgement to garnish my pay was given to me with no knowledge in my part. What can I do to find out what it is all about.

Re: judgement
If you had no warning of this, and claim that it was not done for the correct reasons then, depending on the court in which the judgment was filed, you'd file papers asking a judge to stop the garnishment, at least until the process has been sorted out. If you never had any notice about this lawsuit, you have a fair chance to have the judgment vacated (thrown out).
