Legal Question in Appeals and Writs in New York
Hi I need legal advice my situation is this I was working for a friend she gave me a personal piece of property for free 2 years ago and I was fired by her 7 months ago now she wants compensation of 2500 dollars for this personal property there is no written legal contract between her and I for this personal property, she is threatening to take me to small claims court over this. Does she have a leg to stand on?

A gift is a gift where no consideration is required. Pardon the legal jargon but your friend dosen't have leg to stand on. This similar to what most law students learn in thir first year of law school: the girl gets to keep the ring and does not have to return it if she refuses to walk down the aisle. Good luck!
