Legal Question in Appeals and Writs in New York
What steps do I need to take to collect non payment of a settlement from a lawsuit in NY, I am in PA. How do I file/complete/carry out a Writ of execution?

You must first convert the settlement agreement into a judgment. Once you have the judgment, and if you know the location of an asset, you would have to file (through the court since you are not an attorney) a property execution notice with the Sheriff or Marshal.

You must first obtain a judgment depending on the terms of the settlement agreement. Then you can enforce the judgment by attempting to seize assets. We have substantial experience handling these types of cases, however, we would need some more information before making a complete and proper determination.
