airline e-mail tickets
my wife and i purchased an e-mail ticket from delta airlines.
we were unable to return on the scheduled date due to the death of her father on the same day. we reschduled and were charged $100.00 each. Are we entitled to a waiver of this surcharge?

Sorry to give you a usual lawyers answer - but - "it depends".
Airlines have no obligation to refund any tickets or money in the event of a death in the family or other natural emergency - unless they publish such exemptions on their tickets or purchase agreements. Take a close look at the tickets and/or purchase agreement for such language. If you wish you can fax it to my office and we would be happy to look at it for you (no charge of course) and maybe have a more clear answer. My guess is - the 100 fee is a prcessing charge that is included in their ticket wording. Best to you.
