Legal Question in Banking Law in New York

Cause of Action - Notice of Removal

I am trying to get some basic info about a lawsuit wherein it states that the nature of the suit is ''Contract - Other Contract'' and the cause of action is ''28:1441 Notice of Removal''. Is there any way I can get some basic info about this case without paying for the subscription of view the details of the suit?

Thanks,

Re: Cause of Action - Notice of Removal

Without knowing any particulars about the matter in question, it sounds to me like the lawsuit might well have been filed in state court and then removed to federal court. The "28:1441 Notice of Removal" refers to a statute under Title 28, Section 1441 of the U.S. Code. This lets a defendant remove a case from state court and file it in federal court IF the federal court has jurisdiction.

If you know where the suit was filed (geographically), you should be able to find the corresponding federal court and contact their clerk's office.

PLEASE NOTE: THE INFORMATION PROVIDED IS GENERAL IN NATURE AND DOES NOT FORM AN ATTORNEY-CLIENT RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN US. FOR SPECIFIC LEGAL ADVICE, SEEK A CONFIDENTIAL CONSULTATION WITH A LAWYER OF YOUR CHOOSING.
