Legal Question in Banking Law in New York
Debt
At 2000 I failed to pay my mortage and I lost my apartment at a co-op, I only owned $17,000, latter I found out that the apartment was actioned for something like, $23,000, now I got a bill for $12,267.13.
How can they come with a bill like that; can I recover the diference?

Re: Debt
depends on the county - some counties allow the bank to keep the surplus, others do not. also, if a co-op the bylaws will tell you something.
