My grand mother past away and we had an joined account now i cant remember the bank it was in how can i find it and claim it?

You may be able to locate unclaimed accounts by contacting the NYS Attorney General at their NYC location.
Be prepared to provide her name, her social security
number and any other identifiable information that you have. Also, it would be prudent for you to have your info as well, as the account info may be listed under both names and info.
The Atty General is the department that receives unclaimed accounts and property when an account goes dormant for one reason or another.
