Legal Question in Banking Law in New York
My late father named me as beneficiary of his checking acct with Bank of america.(proceeds= about 2500.00. Banksaid I have to go to clerks ofs and get proof that I was appointed as administrator of his estate or get a small estate affidavit. I am a POD for the funds. Do I need to jump thru this hoop 2 get the funds. My father didn't appoint me for anything an he has no will.

Either you or the bank manager is making an error. How do you know you are PoD for the checking account? If I was to guess I would say you are mistaken since the bank is involved in these types of transfers all of the time.
