Legal Question in Banking Law in New York

What is the best way to take legal action against a bank? The bank took away my entire hard earned paycheck for no reason, stating they are "holding it", and it is their new policy.

However I was never notified of this new "policy" yet and by the time I hear about it it the damage is already done, In addition to having my own money taken away I am going to have to pay fees simply because of their incompetence. This has never happened to me before so I had no way of knowing this would happen. What kind of legal action can I take or what kind of bad publicity can I shine on this issue? Thank you.

The bank cannot "hold" your money without a legal or contractual reason. It sounds as if the bank was served with a retraining notice or other legal order arising from a lawsuit or judgment filed against you. Rather than take legal action without knowing what's going on, get a reason as to why they're holding your account. Then post the facts and ask your question again.
