Re: I need to prove a bank deposiy
Banks do not loose their records, they, like most businesses do not keep them handy after a period of time because they don't have the capability to access them and many do not keep records past 7 years, this is common place in investment banking and in other data intensive industries such as banking.
You can request that they retrieve archived information, but due to the nature of the request you will be required to pay for the investigation and retrieval and it can costs hundreds if not thousands of dollars and may not be successful.
You can prove the deposit in other ways, i.e, a copy of a bank statement, a copy of a canceled deposit ticket, a copy of a payroll transaction (if it was a direct deposit), etc. If you can't provide proof from your own records then you may be out of luck.
If you wish to discuss the purpose behind the need of proof, you can call my office for a phone consultation.
