Legal Question in Bankruptcy in New York
Automobile leasing bankruptcy purchase
I filed for bankruptcy in December of 2000. My car
lease is up this May 2002. I was allowed to keep the
lease on the car. Is it considered an asset
or can I legally purchase the car without the court
taking posession of it. If I purchase the car do I
have to give it to the court as an assest to sell to pay back my bankruptcy.

Re: Automobile leasing bankruptcy purchase
If you have received a discharge as I assume you have then you can do as you please as to the car. No need to report back to the court. If you purchase its yours free of claims.
