Legal Question in Bankruptcy in New York
Bankruptcy help outside brooklyn
Why is it that there is nowhere or no one in the entirety of Queens County, with its plethora of lawyers, that gives free legal advice on bankruptcy???! The only thing I was told about was a once a month evening meeting in Brooklyn ,for which you have to be put on a waiting list. For people that have a hard time traveling, that just makes it a even better situation.Obvioulsy,if you have to file bankruptcy, odds are you cant afford a lawyer for help!

Re: Bankruptcy help outside brooklyn
Most attorneys will give you a free consultation, even in Queens. The Queens County Bar association, can refer you to a pro bono panel, where you can get a free attorney if you qualify. This may be your Brooklyn reference. If you wish to take advantage of free, you are going to have to spend some of your time, which sounds like your real complaint. Most people who file for bankruptcy, are overextended, as opposed to broke, this means that they can afford an attorney.
