Legal Question in Bankruptcy in New York

before bankruptcy discharge

What happens if a creditor learns of the bankruptcy before it is discharged? I don't own a house or car so there isn't anything of value they can take. What happens if they contest the bankruptcy?

The creditor is informed of the Bankruptcy by the court. Any creditor not listed with a reasonable address in your bankruptcy petition is not bound or included in the bankruptcy discharge. They can still collect the money.
