Legal Question in Bankruptcy in New York

Bankruptcy Infomation regarding someone on Disablility

I am on Disability and i unfortnately have incurred a very large amount of debt (approx. 15,000.00 in credit card debt plus a caravan that i am currently paying for). I am sure i am going to have to file bankruptcy and i was wondering if i could still keep my van and how much will it cost me to go bankrupt.

Re: Bankruptcy Infomation regarding someone on Disablility

Dear Reader:

In examining this response, please note that we are not entering into an attorney/client relationship, that this is to be taken as informative, and not as legal advice, that it is always best to speak to a lawyer in your area and/or in the area where the transaction and/or events occurred, and that my answer is necessarily limited by the fact that I have not seen the documentation or had an opportunity to go over the matters with you in detail.

You may be able to make a deal with the bank to avoid repossession, but that will depend on your ability to make payments later. As I mentioned before, this is something that you will want to take up with a volume bankruptcy lawyer of your own selection, either in your area. Check the classified section of your local paper.
