What does the different chapters mean, as far as my obligation of how much I pay back, if anything?

In chapter seven you are looking to discgarge all unsecured debt. with chapter 13 you are looking to pay down unsecured debt over time (usually 30 - 60 months) once the pay down is completed the remaining debt is then discharged...
