Legal Question in Bankruptcy in New York
Bankruptcy and lien
I filed chapter 7 on February, 2003. I owed a car loan and a personal loan at a credit union. I discharged the personal loan but not the car loan.
I went in a month ago to pay the last payment on the car loan and they would'nt except it. They told me that the blue book value of the car was $3500.00 and they wanted me to make arrangments to pay the additional monies.
I haven't called them back yet however the other day they repossessed my vehicle.
Can they legally do this?
They would'nt take my last payment until I made arrangements to pay an additional $3500.00

You may have a claim for violation of the bankruptcy code by the bank. You should immediately retain the services of an attorney.
