Legal Question in Bankruptcy in New York
Bankruptcy & Living Together
Hi. Thank you for answering my first question, but I need to ask more about it. My husband (we are still married; we are not legally separated) have lived apart since April. He filed a chapter 13 in Dec and his filing date is next month. He filed apart because we have been and did not want to drag me into his filing. Long story short: we wish to get back together BUT he signed that we were not living together and we are not. So.... can we live together again ONCE the filing is complete next month? Another Question:Are we even able to be seen together until then? I guess we just need to know what will or will not affect his filing next month. Thank you very much.

Re: Bankruptcy & Living Together
Your situation is WAY too complicated (and too fact-specific) for this board.
You and your husband need to hire an attorney to evaluate your situation and properly advise you. You should hire one who is geographically close to you. Referrals, if you need one, are generally available from county bar associations or from the NYS Bar Association (www.nysba.org).
