Legal Question in Bankruptcy in New York

Cash Advance before Filling Bankruptcy

Hi, I made some cash advances one month ago. I had to make 8 cash advances since my credit card did not allow balance trasnfers or any cash advance over $ 500 a day. I had a credit limit of $ 4000. I used the money to pay a higher interested credit card of my wife. Now I am planning to file for Chapter 13. Would I have problems or I should wait to file?

Re: Cash Advance before Filling Bankruptcy

This is a question you need to ask the lawyer you hire to help you through your Chapter 13 petition and subsequent actions. The answer to your question depends on information that you have not posted. If you live in the Albany/Schenectady/Troy/Saratoga area, I'd be happy to work with you; else, contact an attorney whose practice is geographically close to you. If you live in NYC, make sure the attorney you choose to work with practices in the same borough in which you live.

THE INFORMATION PRESENTED HERE IS GENERAL IN NATURE AND IS NOT INTENDED, NOR SHOULD IT BE CONSTRUED, AS LEGAL ADVICE. THIS POSTING DOES NOT CREATE ANY ATTORNEY-CLIENT RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN US. FOR SPECIFIC ADVICE ABOUT YOUR PARTICULAR SITUATION, CONSULT YOUR ATTORNEY.
