Legal Question in Bankruptcy in New York

Chapter 7 or 13

My situation is that I would like to eliminate all my debt but it is between 18,000-20,000 and I do not have much money in my pocket at the end of the week to pay bills. My income is about 57,000 yearly and I looked into debt consolidation but the payments would be beyond what I can afford. What advice can you give me? Can I do Chapter 7 or 13? And if so, what are the steps?

You may be able to qualify for a Chapter 7 case and get rid of all dischargeable debt. It depends upon your expenses and your family size.

I can give you a free consultation if you download the bankruptcy checklist from jmy website and call me.

Under the new bankruptcy law I am not allowed to give you specific advice regarding your situation. It sounds like, however, it would make a great deal of sense if you contacted an attorney to discuss things. Each case tends to be fact intensive, so no attorney will give you advice without first discussing your situation.
