Legal Question in Bankruptcy in New York

closed without discharge

I just found out that my bankruptcy that i thought was discharged on january 2007 was closed without discharge because the debtor's ed papers were not filed within the 45 days for a chapter 7.why haven't the creditor's been calling? and what can I do now besides call my lawyer that I paid $1500.00 and ask him what went wrong

If a bankruptcy petition is dismissed "without prejudice", the debtor can refile. If the bankruptcy petition is dismissed "with prejudice", then refiling cannot happen.

By all means call the attorney to whom you paid piles of money and ask why the papers were not filed correctly.

I don't know why creditors have not been calling.
