Legal Question in Bankruptcy in New York
credit card bills
I was told there is a limitation on the amount of time a credit card company has to collect their depth. I ran in to some money problems back in 1996 and was unable to pay on my 8 credit cards. what is the limitation in Newyork city? Do i still owe these people money?

Re: credit card bills
Maybe. Once you default (don't pay) the credit card company has six years to start a lawsuit against you. Once they obtain a court judgment they then have 20 years to collect upon it.
