Legal Question in Bankruptcy in New York
Using a credit card before filing for bankruptcy
I am considering the possibliity of filing for bankruptcy. I jsut recently (yesterday) recieved a new credit car with a limit of 250 dollars. I barel;y have enough money to pay for anything let alone gas to and from work which is about 18 miles away. If I use my new credit card for gas and pay it off before I file can I keep it? Will using it compromise my ability to file at all?
Thanks for your help

Re: Using a credit card before filing for bankruptcy
Your use of the card does not prevent you
from filing
you may reaffirm your debt to the credit card
and keep the credit card even if you do
not pay the entire balance before bankruptcy
do not forget to do the most important thing
and hire a lawyer for the bankruptcy long
before the changes in the law which are
pending now before Congress are passed.
