Legal Question in Bankruptcy in New York

Discharged student loan

Had a student loan discharged in 1998 by a bankruptcy judge due to hardship. Now I hear from a collections agency saying I owe $89,000 for that loan! How can they do this since it was discharged and I have the paperwork to prove it.

Do I have to worry since there is no way I can repay that kind of money?

Re: Discharged student loan

If it was indeed specifically discharged, then you need to fight the creditor in Bankruptcy court to enforce it.
