Legal Question in Bankruptcy in New York

Discimination and New Saving Accounts

I filed a Chapter 7, which was granted, and my debt was discharged. I owed money for a line of credit loan to a Credit Union where I had a checking and savings account. The Credit Union closed my accounts pending the outcome of bankruptcy proceeding. I now want to open a savings account with them (it's a good credit union) but they said ''no'' because I owe them money. Is that discrimination and do they have to allow me an opportunity to start fresh w/ a account since legally, I don't owe them anything now after discharge. Thanks
