Legal Question in Bankruptcy in New York
I filed bankruptcy in 10/04 it was discharged in 05 - chapter 7. When will I be eligible to file chapter 7 again. I have three houses and twenty thousand in medical debt that I cannot get out from underneath and no job. I have been through credit counseling and approved for bankruptcy.

You must wait 8 years from the date of filing of the prior Chapter 7 case before you can file for Chapter 7 again. You can file a Chapter 13 bankruptcy. However, you can only file Chapter 13 if you have regular income.
