Legal Question in Bankruptcy in New York
Listing of Assets
I understand the importance being complete and thorough in listing my assets for a Chapter 7 bankruptcy, but realistically, how detailed am I expected to be? I'm assuming I don't have to count every paperclip in my desk and every wire hanger in my closet. What about several boxes of paperback books that probably aren't worth more than 25 cents each? In other words, is there some minimum dollar value below which an item doesn't have to be listed? Otherwise, this could take me months...
