Legal Question in Bankruptcy in New York

What personal property can be ''taken''

If I filed personal bankrupcy for myself can my crediters take personal property belonging to me or my wife and children that live with me? If so what kind of property can they take? Thank you

No as to wife and children. As to you (the person filing bankruptcy) almost all usual personal property is exempt (clothes, furniture, etc.). You must check the State exemption law to be definitive.
