Legal Question in Bankruptcy in New York
Stopping?Delaying Eviction With Bankruptcy
Can an eviction be delayed with a bankruptcy i.e., stay of eviction, in order to prepare a case to fight a foreclosure and eviction? Will doing a chapter 13 BK stay an eviction until the lender gets a release of stay?

To file for bankruptcy you must take the credit counseling course at least 180 days prior to the filing date.
Have you taken the credit counseling course?
Why not ask the bank about other options available to you?
