Legal Question in Bankruptcy in New York
Will a bankruptcy come off my credit report after 7 years
My husband & I went through a chapter 7 bankcruptcy in Oct. 92. We have worked hard to rebuild our credit. We have bought vehicles and a home and make our payments on time. Will this bankruptcy automatically be removed from credit reports after this Oct. '99 because the 7 years are up or do we have to do something to have it removed?

No darling, it can remain on your credit report for ten (10) years. This is a common misconception.
