The custodian of records is merely the individual or company responsible for maintaining records pursuant to 18 U.S.C. 2257 and 18 C.F.R 75, which are designed to ensure that all talent portrayed in the films are 18 years of age or older at the time of the production. The custodian does not, by itself, have any financial interest in the production of the films. He is merely the contact person in the event the Department of Justice wishes to audit the records required by the laws mentioned above.
